Summary

Annalisa Iadicicco is an Italian-born mixed media artist known for her installations and photography. She moved to New York in 1997 to study photography at the Fashion Institute of Technology and subsequently worked with major movie and television productions before returning to her roots to create art from raw found materials.

Annalisa’s installations and sculptures are created using reclaimed materials found during her urban travels and address social injustices and environmental problems, aiming to highlight overlooked issues and encourage conversation and social change.

Whether repurposing car bumpers into superhero sculptures, transforming unwanted musical instruments into functional lamps, or utilizing discarded bicycle rims and music vinyls to create flower sculptures,

Annalisa aims to unveil the hidden potential within discarded objects. Each creation is a deliberate act of curation and transformation, compelling viewers to reconsider their perceptions and engage in meaningful dialogue.

Her work has been exhibited in various group shows in New York, Italy, and India.

In 2018 she was the artist-in- residence at Materials for The Arts, where she also held a solo show in the MFTA gallery. She received the Creative Climate Award of The Human Impact Institute in 2020 and her work was featured on Channel Thirteen/PBS American Portrait in 2021. In 2023, she is among the radical NY artists who transform found objects into art, as featured in Time Out and received the LIC Community Impact Award from Culture Lab LIC.

As the founder and creative director of “ The Blue Bus Project”, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, Annalisa is committed to bringing free participatory art events into underserved communities around NYC. The project aims to promote dialogue for social and environmental change through performance, visual arts, and interdisciplinary workshops.
